June 29 Say "NO" to cheeseWent to Tesco with Beryl today to shop for groceries.
Beryl wore her thick jacket she bought in Glasgow... and the mischievous sun decided to be really hot today. Arghhh, one thing I don't like about St Andrews is the weather. Luckily I just wore a cardigan or I wouldn't be able to stand the heat.
Bought some bread and honey. Decided to cut out milk from my daily diet since I found out that dairy products cause acne. I've been drinking lots of milk ever since I was here. That explains why my face became more and more cacat. LOL. I shall not eat cheese too. I simply can't stand cheese and pasta together at the moment. Serve me right, I ate too much of those cheesy pasta thing these few days. Thinking about cheese makes me wanna puke.
Urghh... Any takers? June 28 A trip to GlasgowWent to Glasgow with Kelvin, Melvin, Jennifer & Beryl on Monday (25th of June). Got up at 6a.m. *yawns* in order to get ready. Left a note on the fridge to let Liz and Geetha know that I wouldn't be back till Wednesday. Sat on the bus for 3 hours plus and reached the bus station 10 plus a.m.. Then, we went to the Euro Hostel by taxi and left our luggage there before going anywhere. Duh, who loves walking around with a luggage? Not me.
We were attracted by the scenary here. (somewhere infront of our hostel).
But then... something else caught my eyes. ARTISTIC!
Then, we decided to have lunch in a shopping mall before paying a visit to Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. Jennifer was instantly attracted by some shops in the shopping mall. So, Beryl & I had our lunch first. It sucks. OVERPRICED! (See pictures in the photo album) After lunch, we took the subway to Hillhead (If I'm not mistaken) and walked to the museum. Met a girl from Germany who's going to the museum too.
Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum
Somehow, it reminded me of "The Night In The Museum". (Look for the pictures in the photo album.) There were the Italian Art gallery, the Ancient Egypt gallery etc. It was interesting. Did I mention I like the interior design of the building?
After visiting the museum, we walked through the University of Glasgow and found ourselves in the Mackintosh House. I love the design of the house! Especially the bedrooms. One's so cosy and it has stripes painted on the wall while the other is all in white. I LIKE them! Sadly, we weren't allowed to take pictures there. Interested? Go on to Google and search for it.
Next, we hit the stores and shopping malls and had a 3 pound plus dinner. Met a girl who's extremely drunk. She came to our table and chatted with us. As much as she tried to remember our names, she just couldn't get them right and she kept calling all of us (except Jen) "MERYL". The temperature's cold at night (Luckily, there's no wind.) and our teeth were chattering as we walked on the streets of Glasgow.
The next day...
We went to the Glasgow Science Centre by subway.
The BBC building was located beside the Science Centre.
Kelvin, Melvin, Jennifer, Beryl and I posing infront of mirrors.
There's the Glasgow Tower behind us.
We chose to visit the Science Mall instead of the IMAX cinema and the Glasgow Tower. There was a lot of stuff to see, which I think should be interesting for my brother.
After that, we stepped in to shopping malls again. Then, we had buffet dinner at a chinese restaurant opened by a British born Chinese. We were served by a guy whom we think is a Malaysian. And guess what? When I was taking some food, I heard him speaking in Bahasa Melayu! So it's confirmed then... he is from Malaysia. Jennifer then told us that the guy's from Ipoh. There's another guy from Ipoh while the other 2 working there are from Penang! There's also a guy from Hong Kong. Went to the bar in the hostel after dinner. All of them drank shots. I tried one. Beryl's face turned very red after some time and we were giggling and laughing like nobody's business when we went out from the bar. Ok, now I know that alcohol could make people go mental. We found everything funny and laughed at everything.
The last day in Glasgow...
We went for breakfast at 10 plus a.m. in the hostel. Had 3 pieces of toast. Tried honey, strawberry jam and blackberry jam on the bread as I had apricot jam the day before. Prefered the one with honey. It's delicious! Saw many Hongkies. They're attending some graduation ceremony in Glasgow.
Went shopping... again! Saw some Malaysians. You could just tell by the accent. Saw some people dancing hip-hop on the streets. COOL! They're great dancers! *Goes crazy in delight* Then, we went back to the hostel and get our luggage... and WE ALMOST MISSED THE BUS because we couldn't get a taxi! Luckily, we found one in the last minute... and got on the bus! WHEW. I definitely didn't want to have another experience of missing bus/airplane/train etc. I've already had one in the London airport.
(All pictures from Glasgow will be uploaded in the photo album...)
p.s. I still like St Andrews better. It's clean, the air's fresh and it's quiet. Glasgow? Not quite. Besides, it's one of the cities with the highest crime rate in the UK.
p.p.s. Went to a walk with Liz and Sharon (Liz's friend who taught English with Liz while they're in Prague) in the evening. Got caught in a rain on the way back. They're planning to make sushi over this weekend. HaHa. This time, I won't put the whole packet of Sushi rice. LOL. June 21 TAGGED!!!Name : Winnie

Anyway,16 June 2007...
I moved from my apartment to another one. (Forbes--->Herkless) Oh God, you should've seen the state of my kitchen before I left. And in case you're wondering... No, it's not done by me. Thank you very much.
Beryl helped me with my stuff (& Yolanda's) while I helped her with hers. We didn't manage to get the card for our new apartments the day before. So, we had to move on that very day(16th of June). And guess what? It rained that day. Or was it drizzling? Urgh, I don't know. The weather's just horrible. So, we moved on the cold and wet morning. After moving, Beryl and I decided to have dinner in town since we're both too tired to cook. We had Japanese food for dinner. I had chicken katsu bento. My new flatmates are very friendly. One's called Liz (American) and the other's Geetha (Indian). They are really sweet and nice people... *grins* They are just sooo different from my ex-flatmates. I hate the shower head in my bathroom though.
17 June 2007...
Father's Day. Wanted to wish him "Happy Father's Day" but he wasn't in as he's off to KL for a meeting. My bro told me that he finished the card I made halfway for my Dad. Then, I chatted with my Mum for 2 hours plus. HahA. Beryl said it's extremely long. I agreed. Hee hee. I asked Mum for some cooking tips in making sushi. Beryl came to cook for dinner. I just dumped everything into the pan and fry it. LOL.
Tomatoes+Sausages+Eggs
Greenpeas+Sausages
We chatted till 10 plus p.m.. She was suggesting that we go to London next week since it's our holidays. Should I...?
18 June 2007...
Writing exam. When I reached my flat, I spent 2 hours cooking some greenbean soup on my own for the 1st time... and I succeeded (although I think I put too little sago in it)!
Since I cooked too much, I gave Beryl half. She said it's delicious. Hee hee. Beryl, you weren't just being polite, are you? *cheeky grin*
19 June 2007...
Reading exam. Baked a chocolate cake with Jen and Beryl as Vicky's leaving the next day. It's delicious and fun! Jen's flatmates are quite nice. Went back to my flat at 11 p.m.. E-mailed my Mum and told her I succeeded in cooking greenbean soup.
20 June 2007...
Listening & Speaking exam. Vicky's leaving at 5p.m.!!! *Cries* Gave Vicky a card I made myself. Got a kiss from her in return. Beryl gave Vicky one too, whereas Jen gave Vicky a cake before we went in to room I for our exam. Got 16/20 for the speaking exam. Took photos with Vicky after our speaking exam. I sure will miss her after she's gone. She's such a sweet and lovely person, always full of laughter. Ally gave Beryl & I a free ride back to DRA today at 5 plus p.m.. *grins* Decided not to go to London, I'll try cooking during my one week of holidays. Beryl, Jen, Melvin & Kelvin will go there together though. Will I regret? I sure hope not. No English lesson tomorrow. I'm off to watch a movie in Nisbet Room. June 12 Typical Scotland WeatherJust when I was complaining that yesterday's hot... God, there's no sign of sun today. It's cold and wet today. That's what they call "Scotland's Weather". Rainy and cold in summer. On top of that, there's road construction infront of ELT. Tomorrow's Graduation Day for the other students in ELT. Hope that the weather will be fine then. *cross my fingers and pray hard*
Felt so sleepy during physiology lesson. The teacher's going round and round the bushes.
I need boxes. Desperately.
June 11 Give Me $ Instead~Saw many tables occupied by old men when I went for breakfast at BISTRO today. I wondered why they're there... probably for golf? Anyway, other students from ELT don't have lessons anymore, cause they're graduating on Wednesday. So, there will be only us for the moment.
The weather's cold. Doesn't feel like summer at all!
Went to ask Jane about the food problem, and she told us to buy ourselves mealcard and then claim the money from the office. That's 35 pounds a week (10 meals). The food in Bistro is so expensive! With 35 pounds, I could buy food which could last me for weeks!!! At least 2/3 weeks!!! Luckily I didn't choose "catered" for next year. Why is it so expensive? I don't eat as much as 3.50 pounds for breakfast. Why couldn't Jane just give us the money instead? oOh, because she just have to make sure that it benefit the uni... that the profit goes to the uni. (In this case, the profit goes to DRA.)
SIGH. SIGH.
I need boxes... Have to move on the 16th of June. Arghhh...!
Clare asked me what did I think I get for Maths and I told her "Erm... not as good as the last time...?" Ok, what did she expect me to say? Excellent? I mean, I didn't know how to do the last question for God's sake. Then, she told me I got 19/20. Talk about shock... XD
The weather was extremely hot when Beryl & I walked back to DRA at 5 plus p.m.. Scorching. I was sweating all over. Somehow, I felt like I'm in M'sia all of a sudden. (Sweat!)
Talking about moving, I just agreed to let Yolanda leave some of her things in my room on the 13th of June, which is Wednesday. She's going to a uni in Manchester. Luckily the apartment I'm moving into is on the ground floor level. June 10 FOOD... I like.No sign of new pictures in my blog for quite some time already...
Don't blame me, sth's wrong with my blog, and I couldn't upload any pictures...
Anyway, here are some pictures of food I tried to cook...
Long beans + button mushrooms + chicken + spaghetti.
(The chicken wasn't cooked by me, I just popped them into the microwave.)
Mash potatoes & Tomatoes
Beans & Mushrooms...
(A liitle too much oil there, but luckily it's organic sunflower oil...)
Long beans & mushrooms on top of chicken
The ingredients are the same... Cause I wanted to finish the long beans before cooking the lettuce I bought. LOL. June 08 An Evening in MorrisonHad Maths test at 2p.m. today...
This time, we were required to put our bags infront of the lecture room.
Robert wasn't there. Mike and John were there instead.
Anyway, the test's over at 3p.m..
Went to Morrisons with Jen, Beryl, Shu Mei, Kai Theng, Melvin & Kelvin.
Called dozens of taxi companies and none of them has a 7-seater taxi available.
Finally, we went there by bus at 4:30p.m.
I bought loads of things. Below is the list...

God... I felt like someone from Tk Ltd, buying so much food.
We reached BISTRO at 6 plus p.m..
Needless to say, the fruits were all gone... =.="
There were only 2 fish left. So, I ate rice + vegetarian curry.
DELICIOUS! I like it... ^-^
Got 17/20 for the previous presentation. *grins*
I'm sure I wouldn't have gotten that if the teacher's Clare. June 07 The Start of PhysiologyHad the first lesson of Physiology today.
Clare said that the lesson today wasn't confirmed... and she said that she's going to contact one of us (Beryl, Melvin, Jen and I), whether or not there's going to be a Physiology lesson today. But then, she didn't. Instead, she phoned me at 3:10p.m. (The lesson starts at 3p.m.) and told me that the teacher was here and none of us was there. Then, she claimed that she told us to come unless she told us not to.
Colour me shock. Speechless here.
Anyway, Beryl and I dashed to the reception and called for a taxi from DRA to ELT. The stupid taxi wasn't here after 10 minutes. Beryl called another number for a taxi and it arrived within 1 minute. It was 3:25p.m. by the time it reached DRA. And then, disaster struck again. *moans* There was road construction going on near ELT. We intended to get out there and run to ELT, but the driver doesn't really seem to be keen on that idea. So, we waited. When we finally arrived in Room I (after searching endlessly for it), it was 3:30p.m.. The teacher is nice, I guess... but he did everything in a very slow pace. Later, we were told that we have Advanced Maths for the next term (A substitution for the Chemistry lessons we missed out in last September), which is fine with me... except that John is going to be our lecturer and tutor! God, can things get any worse? Why on earth does it have to be him? OMG. *faints* Why not Robert/Mike?
Aishhhh...
Things aren't looking very nice at the moment...
Have to send Nottingham an e-mail...
--------signing off--------- June 06 Strained eyesWent to the gym in the morning with Beryl.
It has been 2 weeks since I last exercised.
Fats are growing.
Fats are growing.
Fats are growing.
Ate my stale doughnuts & mint ice-cream for lunch.
Yummy.
Cooked spaghetti + cabbage + chicken for dinner.
The chicken is very delicious.
Very oriental.
Thanks to Jen and her recommendation.
Then...
Stared at the computer screen for hours.
STARED...STARED...STARED...STARED...
Tried to write the essay Clare gave us for homework.
*Struggle Struggle Struggle*
Hoorah!
My essay's done.
Well, haven't proof-read it nor written the bibliography.
But never mind. I'm relieved enough now that I finished my essay.
